Make a wish

There is a challenge on the Webster's Pages blog and forum this month to use their sparklers in your project. I have some of the sparklers (not many but some) and rather than just adding some to a layout I wanted to think of a layout where they would be a main feature of the "story" and so I came up with the idea that the sparklers were wishes made when blowing out birthday candles and they floated to the sky to be collected by the fairies who we all know look after and store our wishes until they come true.
Here is my finished layout using All About Me papers and other Webster's pages trims and embellishments;

Here is the poem I wrote for the LO;

The cluster at the top of the page with the little fairy ready to collect the wishes;

A couple of close ups of the embellishments there are around 5 layers of things going under and over the photo;

As always thank you for popping by and I would love to hear what you think if you have time to comment xxx

Birthday Boy

Today is our little man Alex's 3rd birthday :) My parents and brother came down on Saturday so to avoid confusing him we had his birthday on Saturday and he had a lovely time opening all his cards and presents and eating cake :)

Every present was opened with Daddy, Uncle Marmar or both Daddy and Uncle Marmar;

He has wanted this WOW fire engine for a while now and even picked one up off the shelf of the local toy store and tried to walk out with it not once, not twice but four times!

Yesterday I did this LO of Alex on his first birthday with his favourite thing of the day his giant 1 Balloon;

Scrapology February challenge

It is getting late in the month and I have been so ill and then so busy I am only just getting any scrapping done. The sketch this month from Scrapology is this gorgeous one from the very talented SJ of Little Musings;

This is my take on it;

Once again I have played around with the sketch and incorporated the photo's into the patchwork rather than have a photo on top of it. I used MME Lime Twist papers and twine and spent a good hour sat in front of the TV last night sewing the patchwork together. Thanks for popping by xxx

Little Miss Independant

Over at Lily Bee they have restarted their monthly blog challenges again :D I adore Lily Bee and would be so happy to win some more of their lovely papers so it is a must have a go for me :) This is the sketch for February;

and here is my LO using Head over Heels;

As you can see I played about with the sketch a fair bit while still keeping it recognisable. The LO has lots of layers with all the fussy cut flowers being on 3 different thicknesses of foam tape and the photo on foam tape to lift it as well. I hope you like it I haven't shown it to my Little Miss yet I wonder what she will say??? lol
I also decided to enter this in SJ Crafts 2nd monthly challenge which was to use flowers and incorporate pink and/or red. It is a lovely site well worth a look at both the blog and the shop :)

My heart takes flight

I recently bought some Maya road doily stamps and was dying for an excuse to use them and so when I saw the current Studio challenges sketch I instantly thought of them;

I used my January Gottacraft kit featuring MME Kraft Funday papers and some of the red card included in the kit and some Kraft Resist butterflies;

The LO is about how I love to see my darling hubby in uniform (who wouldn't?) and uses a picture of us going to the christmas do in 2008 when I was over 6 months pregnant with our youngest :)

Thanks for popping by xxx

Glitz February colour challenge

The monthly challenge for February from Glitz was to follow this colour palette;

The colours were perfect for the Beautiful Dreamer papers that I had and also some of the Love nest papers as well. Then I received my February kit from Gottacraft and it had some more Beautiful dreamer papers and some of the BD whatnots in as well so it added to my choice. The "You are my Sunshine" whatnot inspired this LO of my DD using a cherished photo that I have been waiting for the perfect inspiration to scrap;

I distressed all the papers and then inked them with Worn lipstick distress ink and layered them using foam tape so the layout is dimensional. I also edged the mint card with the worn lipstick ink as well. I used both the whatnots along with a single bloomer from Webster's pages and a cameo pin also Webster's Pages;

I used some of the lace included in the kit and highlighted it with the little pearl flowers and added a Peek a Boo and some aqua pearls and this lovely cameo I bought from Primark (aka Primani lol) which was a necklace and cost me all of £1 in the sale a bargain for a fab LO embellishment (and yes my DH does think I am mad buying jewelery for my scrapping rather than my body lol);

I love how the LO has turned out thank you for popping by and I would love to hear what you think :)

Second Ditzy-Craftymess challenge

Our second challenge at Ditzy-Craftymess is sponsored by Robyn's Fetish digital stamps and more;

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib. Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award the winner her choice of 5 digital stamps.

The theme is Snowmen and/ or winter and I made an Art Journal page using two of Robyn's winter stamps - the Snowman and Winter Cottage;

After prepping my page with Gesso I sponge painted the background using white and two shades of blue and flicked some white over the page for a wintry look. I added some pine trees stamped in various distress inks and the two digital stamps coloured with promarkers. A little journalling and all done.

The prize this fortnight is the winners choice of any 5 digital stamps from Robyn's Fetish so please pop over to the challenge blog and have a go :)

Storytelling Sunday 2

Yes it is Monday and I am late but there is a good reason and it has to do with spoons;
I have Fibromyalgia and ME (and Depression, IBS, Migraines and I could go on but I don't want to bore you this early in the day!) I have been suffering through a bad flare of my Fibro/ME the past 5 days with everything being very difficult so my trip Saturday cost me a great deal physically and it is something I always have to weigh up in the back of my mind. I have to balance whether it is better to do something I really want to do and facing the painful consequences or maintain my health but feel miserable about the limits of my life.
So for my storytelling sunday this week I would like to ask you to take a couple of minutes to follow this link and read The Spoon Theory.

This is me;
You have to smile whatever life throws your way and I may have less spoons than some but I have a great many blessings in my life too. Please join Sian in her storytelling :)

Red Ribbons crop and meet

I went to a crop yesterday organised by the Red Ribbon House on UKScrappers. Originally there were 12 of us going but unfortunately with ill health, poorly cars, and horrid weather it ended up with just the 4 of us; Mandy, Terri, Becky and myself.
Also important to my story is that the leader of the Red Ribbon House- Sandra- has this idea that I am naughty and is forever sending me to the naughty step for no real reason at all, it truly is beyond me as I am such an angelic person :)
We had a class on doodling at the crop in the morning and I was the first to finish my page

no patterned paper there at all it is 100% doodled designs on card and as the first finisher I was awarded a Gold Star by Becky;

The award of a gold star means of course that I am an angel and am exempt from any persecution and naughty step sendings by Sandra :P

Creative Craft World - February scrapmap

The February Scrapmap at Creative Craft World went live yesterday and was my first entry as a full member of the DT, I was lucky enough to be a guest DT last month so it wasn't quite as scary this month. Here is Sue's gorgeous sketch for February;

and here is my take on the sketch;

I used papers and flowers from the Prima Alla range and stapled my ribbon to add some texture to the LO. Instead of more flowers on the bottom left I added some tag shapes with the date of my makeover :)
Thanks for visiting please have a go at this months challenge we would love to see you there x
